Television and Telephone Services
Television and telephone service is available for a daily fee through TVR Communications. This service includes a selection of movies. Call ext. 4891 24/7 to rent this service or if you have questions. pCareTV, an interactive patient system, is available for free to all patients, and offers education and relaxation videos and hospital information through the remote control.
Calls to the five boroughs of New York City and certain parts of western Nassau county, southern Westchester and southwestern Connecticut are included in the regional calling area. To call these areas, dial 9, then dial the seven-digit number or 1 plus the area code and number. Out-of-area calls: Dial 7 + 0 + area code + seven digit number. Operator-assisted rates apply for these calls.
If you are dialing from within the hospital and the exchange is 830, dial the last four digits only.

To rent television and telephone service, call ext. 6165 seven days a week. The hospital provides health-related information programming to help speed your recovery. You do not have to pay the daily fee to receive the following hospital-supplied programming:

Closed-captioned television for the hearing impaired and prism glasses for patients in traction are available at no additional charge. Call ext. 4891 to arrange for this service.
